Chavo del Toro
Chavo del Toro is an editorial cartoonist for El Economista in Mexico. In 2019, he received the Award for Excellence in Journalism from the Sociedad Interamericana de Prensa (SIP), and an honorary mention in the political cartoon category. Del Toro holds a master’s degree in Social History and Image from the Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia in Mexico (ENAH), specializing in political cartoons as a historical source and their transition from print to digital media. He is the author of “Joder a México” (“Screwing Mexico”), Universidad de Guadalajara, 2016. Del Toro lives in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
