Josh Orozco

Born into a Hispanic family that’s been in the U.S. for generations, Joshua Orozco grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on a steady diet of Hatch green chile and southern New Mexican cuisine. A graduate of New Mexico State University with a bachelor’s in government and a master’s in business administration, he has spent his professional life developing and promoting Santa Teresa, New Mexico.

Orozco is the vice president for Strategic Development at Global Perspectives Integrated (GPI), a project management and marketing firm. Contracted by the New Mexico Partnership and the New Mexico Small Business Development Center Network, GPI is responsible for recruiting industry to New Mexico and providing support for local businesses and entrepreneurs looking to enter the global market. 

Orozco is also a founder and board member of the nonprofit Border Industrial Association, which advocates for industrial development at New Mexico’s border with Mexico. Orozco is also a founder and the vice-president of the Santa Teresa Charitable Foundation which raises money for educational programs in southern Doña Ana County. Orozco also serves as chair of the Southwestern Area Workforce Development Board, and on the boards of the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority, a water and wastewater utility and FirstLight Federal Credit Union.
